Since 1995 Wild Vision has been dedicated to excellence in Natural History Interpretation and Ecological Services serving the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex area. With 30 programs to choose from, we provide Environmental Education to public and private schools (Honors/Advanced, regular education, special education), Boy Scout and Girl Scout Troops, families, and individuals. We also offer Ecological Services including Floral and Faunal Inventories, Preserve Planning and Management, Wildscape Creation and Maintenance, and Backyard Ponds - Installation and Maintenance among others.
Wild Vision offers 30 programs providing 'adventures in observation'. We specialize in creating an
atmosphere of excitement and curiosity that encourages a deeper connection with nature. Our wildlife
interpreters open the overlooked doors and windows into other species lives. Field trips are conducted at
local
parks and preserves.
Let us help you plan a field trip for your
Montessori, private or public class or grade groups. Choose any of our topics or
let us customize a presentation from several topics. Walks last between 45
minutes and 1 1/2 hours. This is an invitation for all ages. Large, small or
multiple groups.
| Night Hikes |
The wilderness at night is an alien country. A
flashlight shouts at trees to speak English. Quench the torch in the ocean of
night. Immerse yourself. Speak a foreign language. Vacations in a dark country
are available now.
| Survival Skills Training |
There is (silent, conserved) beauty in the ability
to survive a series of days or months in a wild place. Find a deeper and
different connection to reality. Wild Vision can provide you with the tools to
live successfully & completely with what can be carried with you. Wild areas or
your land in north central Texas can provide for all of your needs. Let me show
you how. Private, variable length classes or campouts tailored to your needs.
Floral
& Faunal Inventories
You finally bought a piece of land and want to get comfortable with your wild (or semi-wild) surroundings.
What kind of plants do you have? Which plants do you want to keep and what plants should be selectively
eliminated? How can you attract the wildlife you want and discourage the animals you want to avoid?
Wild Vision can provide a wealth of information on the plants and animals that occur on your land. This may
be a simple list offering only the common & scientific names of the most abundant species (providing you with
a starting point to research further) or it may be a book sized document of useful details. An initial
consultation will answer many of the questions that arise from the stewardship of land.

Preserve Planning
& Management
A floral and faunal inventory is one of the first steps in the creation of a conservation easement. Wild Vision is
a trusted advisor when it comes to sound preserve management. We can assist you in making creative,
productive, ecologically intelligent use of your land.
Wildscape Creation & Maintenance
Are you interested in banishing backyard blandness? Want to create a patch of wild in the midst of a
monocultural yawn? Is your backyard becoming wild due to lack of intervention? We can make it look
intentional. Wild Vision will create a custom design to fit your needs - introduce plants to attract birds or
butterflies, create a privacy screen around a small pond, fabricate an open woodland, or simulate a meadow.
Trail Creation & Maintenance
Maximize your enjoyment of the wild
areas on your land. It's a terrific feeling to walk a familiar trail and
witness the interplay of species. Wild Vision can create a loop trail of any
length to fit your needs.
Permaculture Design
What if you could create a garden of native perennial plants that would surround you with beauty as well as
provide food and useful items?
Landscape Design Using Native Plants
North central Texas is home to over 2000 native and naturalized plant species. All of them are hardy, climate
compatible, and pest and disease resistant. These are species of astounding variety, as exotic and interesting
as any alien species we could plant. Wild Vision designs combine species that mix favorably with each other
to create dense weed-excluding communities, or situate plants in a way that will create natural boundaries
with each other. Our designs create areas that get better every year, generating more flowers as perennial
root systems become larger and attracting more birds or butterflies. Wild Vision designs provide interest in all
seasons and freedom from excessive weeding, watering & fertilizing.
Backyard Ponds - Installation & Maintenance
Wanna see dragonflies next summer? Wild Vision can
design and install a low maintenance, pleasure intensive pond that stays clear
and doesn't require any of the hardware (pumps & biofilters, etc) that so many
experts will tell you are essential.

Ecological Repair of Existing Ponds
Is your pond sick? Got the green goo flu? Let us show you what plants and animals can be added to create a
healthy, self-maintaining aquatic ecology.
Conversion of Hot Tubs to Self-Maintaining Ponds
So the pump broke down (again and twice after that), the hoses leaked, the filter failed and maintenance was not the hobby you had in mind. What now? Let us turn that hard tub into a low maintenance plant filled pond.
Stonework for Ponds & Patios
Have you installed a backyard pond and now want to line it with stone? Our stonework is artwork.
Monoculture to Multiculture
Tired of watering, weeding, fertilizing and poisoning your yard in order to keep that non-native grass happy?
We can help! Wild Vision can create and implement a design that will transform your traditional monocultural
yawn into a balanced ecology of numerous species of (mainly) native, reseeding annual and perennial
groundcovers.
Let's create yards that fend for themselves. Design populations of plants that form boundaries as they come
into contact with other species of plants. Create virtually maintenance free yards using hardy, drought and
disease resistant natives that are useful to people, attractive to wildlife and have an aesthetic appearance
through the seasons. Let's become the bane of any old school landscaper, pandering to the desire for instant
gratification in the form of an endless series of annuals, each ripped from the ground and replaced as soon as
its floral display diminishes.
"The old Lakota was wise. He knew that man's heart away from nature becomes hard; he knew that lack of respect for growing, living things soon led to lack of respect for humans too. So he kept his youth close to its softening influence".
